Māori Dispute Resolution
The Tūhono Collective represents a community of kaupapa Māori Dispute Resolution organisations and individual practitioners.
“Tū” is an abbreviated representation of Tūmatauenga, the Māori deity of war, conflict and strategy. “Hono” literally means “to connect”. Drawing on these definitions, “Tūhono”, in this context, simply means to resolve conflict.
We deliver bespoke dispute resolution services from a Māori perspective including, coaching, training, mediation services, conflict resolution and facilitation services, cultural supervision and more.
We've developed a tikanga-based, Māori Mediation framework "Tūhono" which seeks to establish unique pathways for resolving disputes using Māori beliefs, principles, values and practices that derive from traditional knowledge (mātauranga Māori). Learn more about the Tūhono Model of Mediation here.
