About this workshop
This workshop provides an introductory overview of the Tūhono Māori mediation model. It is intended for those considering undertaking training in Māori / tikanga-based mediation processes as well as those who want to refresh their existing skills.
This workshop is open to those with any level of te reo and tikanga proficiency from beginners to advanced.
There are no pre-requisites to attending this workshop.
Learning outcomes

Understand mediation from a Māori perspective;

Understand the basics of the Tūhono Māori mediation model;

Develop a glossary of Māori words and phrases useful to mediation practice;

Understand and observe key aspects of the Tūhono model of mediation in practice via mediation simulations;

Learn about key Māori values, principles and customs relevant to Māori mediation.
Format
This workshop is delivered online via zoom.
Basic set up that you will need:

Broadband connection

Laptop or computer with good sound capabilities - speakers and microphone
(we recommend a headset for the best clarity, as the internal laptop speakers often don’t produce enough sound) -
Camera (either built-in or external will work well)

Private space where you can speak and comment freely
Accreditation / Qualification / CPD
Participants can earn up to 6 CPD hours for attendance at this event.
